Ringing in the new *school* year
Welcome to the fourth grade! I am so excited to get this school year started with so many familiar faces. I am so lucky to know all of the students either from being their first grade teacher or from around the halls of TUS. I look forward to seeing how much they have grown, so far, and sharing this new adventure with them!
My first year at TUS was spent teaching fourth grade, followed by five years teaching first grade. So while this is a big change for me, it is not completely unknown territory and I am looking forward to all of the fun things I have planned for this coming year.
As an icebreaker I would like to play a rare bird activity where the children come up with a fact about themselves that might not be well known. We will then try to guess whose rare bird is whose. It could be related to something they did over the summer, or not. I spent part of my summer on the water at Lake George and in the ocean off of Cape Cod. I hope you all had a lot of fun in the sun during this particularly warm VT summer.
I feel that communication between home and school is essential, please feel free to reach out to me via phone, 802-426-3213 extension 245. If I am unavailable please leave a message. I am also available through email firstname.lastname@example.org and try to respond to emails as soon as possible.
To receive classroom updates, reminders, and more please join Class Dojo, I will be sending out information during the first few days of school on how to join. You will also be able to see your child’s work, hear their reading, read their writing etc.
I look forward to having a wonderful school year with all of you! Enjoy these last few days of summer and I will see you soon.
